The last picture on the bottom right is a pot with plugs of Kentucky Bluegrass. This grass was a souvenir from Notre Dame’s Football field, currently owned and cared for by an alumnus of the school. It is in the pot and not in the lawn because it needs to be taken inside during the summer days of more intense heat. If it was simply planted in the yard, it would not have survived more than a season or two.

Since the temperatures in SoCal are very similar to our own in the summer, your lawn is annually subjected to the heat that would destroy this pot of grass if it were not mobile. You don’t have the option of giving your lawn refuge.
