As you watch August pass by, you may look out at your lawn and wonder why things don’t look better than they do. With adequate water via irrigation (or sometimes rainfall) and a well balanced fertilizer program, shouldn’t lawns be looking good right through the summer months?
This is the time of year that we are harshly reminded of just how much control mother nature has over things, and how little we really have. The sun beats down mercilessly and the air temperatures often flirt with 100 degrees. It’s not too much of a stretch to compare your lawn to a houseplant in an oven. Even with plenty of water, there’s just no way it will survive.
So why is it that we aren’t truly able to get things under control? Why does the lawn suffer even when being cared for properly? Is there anything further we can do? The next few pages will explain, discuss, and answer these questions. Just click on any of the topics to the left to learn more, or follow along with our self tutorial by clicking on the arrows after each paragraph.
